Born on the concrete blocks of Philadelphia, my heart began beating for the mountains.

The few home movies capturing my childhood illustrate a hard-pressed 8-year-old singing “Wayfaring Stranger” and walking out of school or anything else socially organized.

The moment I was able to, I convinced my father to give me a ride to the furthest place he would drive. I received a BA from West Virginia University where I finally felt my roots taste dirt. I started working for public lands and volunteering for outdoor oriented nonprofits. Since then, I’ve worked across the country in National Parks and continue my unending starvation for wilderness.
